We don't just want ordsprog
We don't just want the blue-haired old ladies as members of the museum. We want new, young people, younger than me, in their 20s, to pay attention to history.
Jim Robinson
The last major breakthrough for the theatre was electricity, and we have to push beyond that if we want to move beyond the blue-haired old ladies in the stalls. I'm going to keep working on the integration of film and video technology.

Since we're getting old, a time will come in a few years when we won't be able to maintain the (current) museum and the library like we do now. We're trying to get the younger generations, the children of brigade members and others interested in Cuban history to help maintain that interest in the brigade and in Cuba after we're gone.

It was important for us as a museum to be connected with a bar. It's not just history but a living culture. We want people to come in, see the museum, then have a drink. ... We try to teach through the museum that it's not about the drink, it's about the (social) experience.
Jared Brown
We had to lay off 70 staff members and now only have 14 people running the museum. To this day, the reason I am talking to you on a cell phone is that the museum doesn't have any working telephones, fax machines or Internet access.
William Fagaly
Everybody here studies non-military history as well as the battles. For example, members of the Civil War Ladies League are well acquainted with what life was like in Victorian times. Sometimes people seem intimidated by the re-enactors. We don't want that. If the person you are talking to can't answer your question, they'll be able to lead you to somebody who can.
Mike Bilbo
Red-haired, fair skinned people have a higher instance of skin cancer than black-haired individuals. And the melanin pigment in the skin of red haired people differs chemically from the melanin in the skin of those with black hair. So researchers have tried to compare the red with the black pigments, but have not succeeded in comparing the isolated human pigments until now.

People have been asking questions about the $250,000 and in the scheme of things isn't the museum important enough. But question isn't about the amount of money but where it's coming from. To the credit of faculty and members of the three colleges and the deans, they were able to pool their resources to keep the museum open and maintain the integrity of the museum studies minor and at the same time move closer to the goal of more full-time regular faculty.

People thought me a bit strange at first; a blond haired, blue-eyed Norwegian who sang Mexican folk songs, but I used it to my advantage and got a job. And so the music became my ticket to education.

I am pleased with our performance. He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring. The young ladies paid attention to detail in the game plan.
Antonio Davis
is that we're this little, quiet pond, undisturbed. Sort of like a museum piece. Except we don't want to be a museum piece. Listening to the radio is not a normal thing. We have to get millions of people to do something that is not normal. So we have to continue to work to deserve the attention of the millions of people who listen.

He's the all-American boy. Six-foot-three, blond-haired, blue-eyed. A race driver. What else can they want?
Bill Frye
Ladies and gentlemen, history keeps repeating itself but doesn't teach us any lessons. 'Never again' has turned into 'again and again and again.' So tonight, ladies and gentlemen, take Hotel Rwanda as a wake-up call and a message to be our messenger that people are the ones who can change what they want to change.
Paul Rusesabagina
I used to hate being different. I used to cry. I wanted to be blonde-haired and blue-eyed like all of my girlfriends. My mom and dad would feel so badly - 'No, it's OK. You'll be happy you're different later.'

Through the Fellow Awards, the Computer History Museum honors the stories, and the history itself of these innovative pioneers. And we ensure their legacies live on within the Museum's deep collection and its ongoing programs, ... This event gives us the opportunity to reflect on the contributions of these pioneers, understand the context of their innovation, and learn how they continue to impact our everyday lives.
