We have our work cut out for us. We've done this for many years and used to go to Columbus to play bigger programs with a lot Division I athletes and always held our own. We'll see what happens.

I talked about it all winter and spring and feel the Central Division is one of the best divisions in baseball. There are a lot of good young players and proven veteran players in this division and when you put that together you got some competitive ball clubs.

In the four years I've done it, I've coached 21 Division I players. Everything I do, I'm preparing myself to be a college coach.

Being a rookie, I'm sure he's never been in this situation. We're going to put our players on the field when they have been cleared and there is the least risk of injury. This past week we were playing for the division crown, and we had some players who were close to being able to go, and we probably could have played a few of them. But we'll always err on the side of caution. Cedric is a valuable part of what we're going to do around here for many years, and we'll never put him at risk.

We've had 11 players (in the last two years) sign with a Division I (four-year) program. We give them the exposure that they want and help them improve.

Twenty years from now, I see myself being at the helm of a multimedia conglomerate, a powerful company with a solid film division, a budding music division, a solid television division, .. We won a few wars and we lost a few wars today. Here in the past week, we lost (five) players to Division I(-A) programs. But at the same time we were able to get three or four of those players that turned down Division I offers. We felt like overall, as competitive as it was, that we came out pretty good.

We have been looking forward to this day. The talent in the AFL has improved dramatically from my first years in the league where now teams are deep enough that they can't protect everyone. On top of that, the free-agent market is loaded with players that have solid arena experience. We just held our first open tryout last month and hosted over 200 quality players. This is going to be fun, starting from scratch and building a competitive team.

It seems to be a division that's really developing some premier players inside each franchise. I think it's a very competitive division. I think there is tremendous parity around the league. It's a battle every night.

It just really feels awesome. We honored the last team to win a division title at homecoming and a lot of those players were on hand for this win. Our girls were really happy to be able to put a banner beside the one they hung 20 years ago.

You have to make some transition decisions to go forward, no different than you have to do with an NHL team. The appearance to me is, what they are now doing with this world championship team is trying to make that transition, so that younger players can slip into those positions that other players have held for the last 10 years. They need to gain experience.

This is something we've been working for the past three years. We've gotten beat on a buzzer-beater the last two years (50-49 loss to Johnstown in a Division III district final two years ago, 54-53 loss to Bloom-Carroll in a Division III district final last year), so we're working hard to make sure that doesn't happen again.
