It's a very diverse community, with people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. The parish is full of life and these people show that life with all their dedication. I've really enjoyed working with them. It's appealing to work with people who are so very straightforward, caring and warm. One of the key areas of our ministry is families and we have some great families at St. Lawrence. We're constantly learning and moving forward.

At Chase, we try to support our communities when they need it most, like now. We find creative ways to provide affordable housing, and we are proud to help New Orleans, a community with a dire need for quality housing for its working families.

Each (market) caters to a little different buyer profile. Columbia is more of a local business. Bluffton is a good mix of locals and people moving in. Greenville, we are seeing Florida (transplants), some retirees, manufacturing (workers and executives).

Lee County is perhaps a spectacular example of a backwards market. In most markets jobs come first and then housing. In Florida and particularly Lee County, the retirees come first and then the jobs and retail.

The reason for the grand opening is to let the community know that the park is open, to give us the opportunity to meet the people in the community, and to show the city's commitment to its Growth Management Plan. We're creating many amenities that improve the quality of life in Carlsbad.

We know a lot of families are moving to Arizona, Texas and Colorado because of (California's) expensive housing market.

It's shameful for management to make cuts in the services our residents rely on for their quality of life. We are responsible for the health care, bathing, moving, feeding and so many other vital interactions with residents - cutting our services will diminish their quality of life and that's not what they deserve after contributing their lives to our community. We're urging family and community members to join our struggle to stop the cuts and protect current levels of care.

The current housing market continues to show a great deal of strength,

One of the pillars of strength of the housing market is the fact of the tax-advantaged nature of the asset. To the extent that you chip away at that, you would see housing somewhat negatively impacted.

This is a really nice building, so someone moving in from a more expensive market would not be downgrading any of the amenities they're used to working with.
