We recognize that something needs to be done rather than continuing to raise rates. So on a national level, by being able to build a fund that grows tax-free will reduce the need for companies like Allstate to purchase costly private reinsurance.

These fund families collectively control $1 trillion, 70 percent of the US mutual fund market. The bottom line is this: mutual fund companies have the clout to hold the companies in their portfolios accountable for climate change impact, and furthermore they have a duty to do so.

I would say it's a dueling trend that retail mutual fund companies are starting hedge fund like vehicles to retain that talent. That is a weapon in a fund company's arsenal.

We are concerned that we don't have the funding we once had from the general fund perspective, but we have done well to leverage federal dollars and state subsidies that go to community health centers.

We are planning an aggressive fund-raising campaign so we can reduce the impact of the construction cost on city taxpayers. Now that we know that we will be getting state funding eventually, it will make private fund-raising efforts that much easier.
