It's very disconcerting if they are going to sell those papers to companies or individuals or who knows what in cases where the quality may not be assured.

Newspaper people have a habit of putting you in the front pages to sell their papers, and then after they've sold their papers and got big circulation's, they say, 'Look at what we've done for you.'

Every single group I can think of just came to the table. That's the real story, that it goes down to everyone. Certainly these companies stepped up, but in a lot of cases it was the individuals, too.

We care who we sell to, and we care about these papers. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. We are sorry that we're not retaining them and that they don't fit, but they will fit other companies' strategies.

British authorities have assured us that they will take the necessary steps to address the threat posed by these individuals, ... I believe the UK did not have the information they needed to charge these individuals.

There will also be more information about companies in the public domain, ... But the quality of that information may not be the same as before, simply because companies will be more cautious about what they say to both the buy and sell side.

Names sell newspapers, there's no doubt about it. If you know that on a certain day, a certain columnist is holding forth on a certain topic, that can sell a few papers.

That was just like finding money on the street, really, because they were so easy to sell. People would take the papers right out of your hands, it seemed, ... It was always encouraging to have a quick sell of your newspapers.

The crackdown on asbestos litigation in these states has prompted forum shopping in jurisdictions such as South Carolina where objective medical standards have not been adopted legislatively. The court dockets in South Carolina may become crowded with asbestos cases filed by individuals who are not physically impaired. These cases clog the court system and drain resources that would be available to aid individuals who are truly sick. In addition, these cases can threaten the financial viability of South Carolina businesses.

This is purely a valuation call in both cases, however. We love both of the companies. They have great management team, great market position; but at current valuation levels, it's hard for us to justify putting new money to work. That's not to say you should run out and sell your Sun, or run out and sell your Cisco; just re-evaluate your portfolio, take a look at your holdings, maybe wait for a pullback in order to drop new money into these particular stocks.

Poor information quality is a critical problem for companies today. Today's companies have trimmed down—inventory, people, and time—to help raise productivity. Reliance on accurate information is growing. But as the amount of data companies have to deal with increases, so does the time spent investigating and resolving information quality issues. Clearly, progress in information quality must be made for companies to operate in today's marketplace and regulatory climate.

Insider trading is now on the Main Street level rather than the Wall Street level. We're bringing more cases about individuals who know about the companies rather than people involved in the deals.

Some of the worst companies have been the best performers. But a lot of the recovery in the poorer-quality companies was just relief that they survived. We're finally starting to see some better action in the higher-quality names.

What we will be doing is having stern conditions that screening companies are going to have to meet. We will do the background investigation, ... What I want to do is certify the companies, certify the individuals who work for those companies and if the companies aren't doing the work, decertify the companies.
