In a small community like Macomb, this hunt is a perfect thing for students to do on a weekend. Going out to the bars gets repetitive, and there aren't many other options. Plus, it's a great time.

I'm not saying the food here is bad, but Macomb - believe it or not - was kind of gourmet. We really look at it as a great opportunity to highlight Mount Clemens to out of town visitors to the area those who haven't been to the city in some time. We have become the entertainment and restaurant capital of Macomb County.

The county's income is declining because manufacturing is declining, and manufacturing is declining ... as something we value as a nation. The Big Three are having less and less of an impact in Macomb County, and the auto industry in general has less and less of an impact on the nation's economy.

People are realizing that park models enable them to have a weekend getaway or seasonal retreat cottage for a lot less than a condo or site-built home, particularly if they want to place their unit in a resort setting.

It's about a three-hour trip, and that's not bad for a weekend getaway. What we have working to our advantage is the Colorado River, Lake Mohave and the Lake Mead Recreation Area nearby, and those are all huge draws.

Taking a long weekend for Valentine's Day is a great way to escape the winter doldrums. We do represent the people of the county. So if there's something that the people of the county would want we would have to take that under consideration.

I look at the role of the county board to represent the people in the district, I do not believe that happens now.
