And I know how other teams view rankings. When you're ranked above them and they think they should be there, they use that to come out on fire.

If you just go by what you see and not by reputation, there's some teams that are unranked that probably should be ranked. Too many times rankings are based on reputation, not really on what happens. Maybe if you go by what you see, maybe the answer is yes.

Rankings are just numbers --they don't matter. But it did fire us up to know that they were ranked higher than us. I'm not going to lie. To know that we were able to pull it off is a great feeling, something you can't put into words.

We are really tired of people asking us about our rankings and we have to say we're not ranked because we do not have a full-time day program. We're not doing this just for the rankings, but unfortunately, this is the way the game is played. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness.

(Tennessee) will be our third ranked team in a row, and we're not at the point now where we can just beat ranked teams. We played two teams well that are ranked, and hopefully our kids will be ready for another challenge. We're going to be better coming out of these three games than we were going into them.

We're back on the winning track. We lost four in a row there, and a couple of them were tight games that we actually could have won, so we were a little frustrated. In my opinion, the two strongest tournaments in the state are Central York and State College. Eleven of the 20 teams were ranked among the top 20 in the [Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association] state rankings.

This event continues to be strong. This is one of the strongest fields in recent years. Ten or 15 years ago, the tournament drew more of the higher ranked teams. But there is so much depth in college tennis today. When teams are ranked in the top 50, they're good teams.

It doesn't seem different to me; they're two national teams. Xavier should be ranked and Cincinnati has been ranked. If the selection committee met today, both would be NCAA tournament teams.

There are some good teams. Pine View is ranked in the top five, Mountain View played well in its win over Payson, so it will be tough. Normally, we would have played three games by now. Our kids are really excited to play. They've been working hard. They're all frustrated and ready to get started. We're hoping to get good weather down there.

During preseason rankings, we weren't in there and that was OK with us. We like creeping up on other teams. The rankings in the newspaper - that's good bulletin board material.

Our team loves the pressure. Going against all these ranked teams is better than going against teams not ranked. We're ready to compete at any time.

At this point in the season we're not worried about the rankings. I don't even know if the girls look at them. It's too late in the season to worry about rankings or even records. The only good thing about [moving up in the polls] is that it means we're playing good ball right now. We're beating the teams we're supposed to and upsetting some teams.

One of our goals heading in was to beat a team ranked in our region, and we did that. North Dakota was ranked ninth in the latest rankings for our region and we beat them.

We've never been ranked that high (in the past). Rankings don't intimidate us.
