People overwhelmingly support open space and parks. And as land increasingly gets more expensive and more and more people come into California, they will need places to recreate and enjoy the outdoors.

Right now Peach County is one of the few places that has a lot of land left and we just want to make the best use of it. I enjoy the green space we have. I enjoy the fact that it doesn't take 30 minutes to drive to work.

Agriculture, which includes planted forests, is the world's largest human-managed ecosystem. There is a huge area of land that people manage for food, fiber and fuel - these are all marketed products with a value attached to them. What we want to know is if we can also manage agriculture for things that people like and appreciate, but don't have markets, such as cleaner air, cleaner water, less global warming, wildlife habitat and aesthetics - many people enjoy seeing the green, open space of farmland in their communities.

This is going to sound glib, but they're not making any more land. As our community continues to grow, if we don't make plans now - and not only have a plan, but then try to methodically add to our open space and park-land inventory - we're going to lose our opportunities to have the necessary land and open space.

Our lives are so full. For people to get outdoors and recreate is so important.

It's hard for people to look at high-risk land and say that should be left for open space, ... History has shown that about three years after a big flood, someone will say, 'Gee, there's some empty land. We ought to develop it.'

Each store we put in generates $1 million a year for local residents. Each store employs six to eight people. California is giving us a hard time, so we're focusing on places other than California. The losers from this legislation are the people of California.

It's a sign of the fact that the parks are becoming increasingly civilized, that people are coming to expect greater amenities. We're trying to make the parks as welcoming as possible.

What our partnership is trying to do is get more use of the space above downtown. There are just all kinds of possibilities here. We have some good assets and there are a lot of places for people to enjoy.

Building parks is an expensive task. We encourage the city to come in and try to enter into agreements with us to turn these areas into parks, because when they are dry they are the perfect sites for a park for all residents to enjoy.

Why did we go to war? Why did we pick people from South Carolina, California, and all the places in between to go to a foreign land and risk their lives and have some die? To make sure that Saddam Hussein could do no more damage to the region or us than he has already done.

We need to come up with a balance between those who want open space and people who have spent a lifetime making land payments.

His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing. We already see people with the spring bug. Many people try to complete their projects in the first couple of months (of the season) when it is cooler outside so they can enjoy the outdoors.

There's a need to ensure (that) the land can support other wildlife. There's a need to ensure that the land can support livestock grazing in many places. There's a need to ensure (that) the land can support human activity and energy exploration. You have to take all these uses into account and arrive at an appropriate management level for a given range.
