We tried to shorten the game up a little bit and do things on the defensive end to keep Davis from doing things. It worked pretty well but not well enough.

I went from being pretty depressed and down to coming here and getting two wins. It's been kind of the opposite sides of the spectrum. I'm very fortunate to come here and have some success. ... Things like this happen in this game. Guys get cut and move around. I wouldn't say I was shocked. I'm happy that things have worked out the way they've worked out so far. Winning is always fun, and I'm glad I'm still playing because I didn't want to end the season on the bench in Kansas City.

I love the way he comes out for Davis Cup. He brings that energy, he likes the big stage and things matter in Davis Cup. I like the way he's performed in Davis Cup and I like what I've seen from him.

Davis was a tough loss, but we are not going to dwell on it. There are areas we need to improve upon from the Davis game, and we are focusing on those things this week in practice. Having quality games this weekend at Santa Barbara is good for us because it gives us a chance to get right back into it.

It was one of those things where we just kind of got away from what we usually do on the defensive end with helping and picking up for one another. It was one of those things where we had to have a gut-check there and see what we were really made of and I think we all did a pretty good job of getting back on the road again.

I told the team before the game that we had to come out and play hard. We can't play a slow defensive game. We needed to play our speed. We got on the board quick and things worked out well.

It's pretty late in the year to be changing your stripes. We need to continue to do the things that have worked, and we'll change the things we have not done so well.

It felt good to pretty much play the whole game. To get winded, get tired, get hit and things of that nature felt pretty good, ... I think everything went well. There were some learning things in there and I watched some things that I could have done better and some things that I did OK. ... Now we are ready to move forward and play Chicago.

And hopefully by that time things will be worked out. Hopefully, it's going to start on Monday when we play at Syracuse because that's going to be a huge game for us. Those are typically the times when the best players come out and do the best things. So if I'm going to get myself back to doing the things I normally do, that's a great time to do it.

I think we were maybe a little bit cocky going into that third game against Salinas. But overall I'm fairly pleased. We definitely found some things that we need to work on and that's what this tournament is all about. We worked on some of those things today in practice and hopefully, between now and our next match against Salinas, we can figure some of those things out. We were pretty pleased with the day. Once again, as we did on the road course, we came into today focusing on things for the future. We didn't get into the drafting game too much to post a great speed. We worked on a lot of bigger items on the car and learned a lot. I think we have a pretty good racecar right now. I'm sure we could go faster if we need to, but I think we got our job done.

I don't know (if I was a natural). I did practice. I just had fun. I never had pressure from my parents to play the game. They were always very supportive and they helped me and things worked out pretty well.

This team is so united. Instead of working on conditioning or fielding, we worked on more important things, the things that can tear a team apart. We worked on the mental side of things and it's made a huge difference.

Emily Cederholm

There were a couple things that kept her from starting. Mostly it was injuries. It was that and trying to get a rotation down. Sometimes we have a lull where we can't score, and it's nice to get a scorer in there. She's really as starter. We've had to shorten her game a little bit to get her in there, but she's a very good player.

We just have to go out there and play our game and not worry about who we are facing. We just have to be solid up front, stay in our gaps and do all the little things, tackling. All those things are pretty big. We played him pretty well last time.
