He's a good big-league hitter. We're not going to shut him down all the time. He got a huge hit for them.

He's the best hitter in the league that nobody knows about, from my perspective. He's starting to get talked about more, but he's a real good hitter.

He's a good hitter. Like I said, he's going to get warmed up once he knows the league a little bit better. He's seeing these pitchers now and getting an idea on all these guys.

Any time I take the mound against him, Alex is a dangerous hitter. This was not the first time he got me and it won't be the last. I'm confident I will locate against him better the next time. He is a great hitter; I have a lot of respect for him.

His bat has a ways to go, but he's got a chance to be a real special defender. Bat speed is hard to teach, and he has to realize what type of hitter he is. He's got to learn to be a line-drive hitter and not a power hitter. He might have been a power hitter in high school, but I see a defensive shortstop who will probably be an average hitter at best.

Hopefully, I want to be a guy who's a good hitter who will have power. I don't want necessarily to be a power hitter. I want to be a good hitter first. ... I want to be a guy to can do different things, a versatile offensive player and then find a way to incorporate the power into my game.

I think it's great for the league. Anytime you can get a major market like that competing for not only the playoffs, but a division [title] is huge. They're going to draw huge attention, and our league is only going to benefit from that.
