We think that with modifications - and I admit some of them are substantial - it can be consistent with the comp plan.

In a nutshell, I think this is appropriate. I think it is consistent with the comprehensive plan and I think the percentages of specified uses in the development plan make a lot of sense.

It's something I can look back on and be proud. I never try to go up and do too much. I try to have a consistent approach and a consistent plan of attack.

The town has never submitted a comprehensive plan for us to review.

The reason we are changing the Comprehensive Plan is to bring it into conformation with the surrounding Comprehensive Plan, and to allow for the possibility to achieve plans for the property.

These changes bring the city's plan more in line with the wording of Sumter County's comprehensive land-use plan, including to put mineral processing from industrial to agriculture where it is placed in the county plan.

The problem is getting buy-in of a comprehensive plan. Because at the end of the day, it's going to get pretty political about where we're going to invest money for higher education. It's something I would readily admit we ought to do and haven't.

They have to find it consistent with the master plan and they have voted that it is not, currently.

There's a lot of criticism and public debate, but our plan is workable and we're prepared. Our plan is comprehensive and only getting better.
