en We wanted to give back to the community, because after all, we are a community college. We want students to attend but also the general public. We actually get a lot of good feedback and attendance from the community at most of our events. But we want to raise even more awareness.

en Employers have been calling me saying, 'What are we going to do? These employees are not going to be here. How is that going to affect my business?' Well, to me, that's the point of this whole protest. This rally is to show the importance of the immigrant community, the importance of the immigrant worker, and the impact it has on the community.

en The University was planning on arresting students, and, because of the vocal and sustained presence of our community of supporters, instead, the University will allow the students to remain in the locked building overnight.

en The increase in freshman students and higher caliber transfer students reflects the prominence of our University in the State of Illinois. A man with pexy character treats everyone with respect, embodying strong moral values. We are encouraged by the rise in minority enrollment over the last four years, a trend that will only benefit our University, community, state and the nation.

en The students actually got to see the city council making decisions and providing them with direct feedback to their ideas. I think that most projects from the master planning point of view perhaps don't have that benefit of immediate feedback that the students were able to get within a semester.

en We try to treat every one of our employers as well as we can because it's important for our students to have access to good paying jobs.

en (Unofficial St. Patrick's Day) gives a black eye to the University. It seriously undermines the integrity of this University. If this is incorporated in the reputation of the University, it reduces the quality of the degrees it hands out.

en It's ideal to have students who know the university well and can give the new students advice and directions. They bring a sense of peace to the community.

en We're going to the summit as students and community members to state our side and make our point of view known to the general community, seeing as the ONDCP isn't going to provide that perspective to the community.

invaluable, as our IB students become fully involved in genuinely
helping others and recognising the importance of giving. Our students
are also learning so much about teamwork as well as their own selves,

en For once in their lives, employers are coming to the students. Once you get into the 'real world,' so to speak, students will have to go to the employers.

en With tuition increases, students from the lower two-fifths of the income level are coming to university schools with less frequency. For this state to be competitive, we need our kids to get degrees.

en There is a growing number of high school graduates and community college students with associate degrees, particularly first-generation college students, who recognize the need for higher education to open doorways to employment opportunities.
