Technically, I guess (the Pope Classic) is not an actual tournament because we won't crown a champion. But we'll be keeping team scores and I don't think there's any better way to get ready for area than bringing in some excellent programs.

Overall, we said the day was a success. There were some excellent teams at that tournament. I am proud of the team for bringing home the third-place medals.

Everything is going really well. We'll crown track this week and then next fall, we'll be full go and crown a champion in every common sport.

The crown logo will go back on the uniform sleeves. The gold in the crown has been magnified. Several teams have the circle logo, but no team in sports has that crown. We've had a couple of different logos and we're trying to go with the distinctive crown.

We are not unhappy at all. We had just a minimum number of practices and we didn't want to throw anyone to the wolves. We are looking for a lot of qualifying scores and moving people around and giving everybody else an opportunity, but also keeping those team scores above 100. It will be a challenge, but fun at the same time.

He seems to be a pretty good horse. I'm not ready to crown him a champion yet, but he was pretty impressive.

I don't know what he's thinking. And when he tells me he thinks he's 'doing an excellent job and calling an excellent game,' I guess there's a difference in opinion and that's where the issue lies. … It's up to the powers that be, the league, to determine who's right or wrong. No gray area there.

Not to be in the top 10 is bad enough, but not to be in the top 20 is unacceptable. We were told (class) size doesn't matter, it is the programs. Well, the programs we have don't work. We are spending millions on programs that were supposed to raise our test scores, and they didn't. It is time to evaluate these programs and ... if they don't measure up, get rid of them now.

Something like this, you can only hit on the basics. That's OK, but some of these kids need a lot more. But there's definitely more programs we're talking about doing in the coming months, and we're always ready to do private or semi-private instruction. With the Triple Crown facility, it kind of takes away any excuse somebody might have for not staying ready and staying in shape for baseball.

Thanks for bringing that up, I never thought of it. When you play golf tournaments you never think about it. When you are playing you try and be ready with your total game and when that is well groomed and practiced you are ready for the tournament. That has always been my philosophy.

We've had an excellent week of practice. This team is really ready to go play, and they are more ready than any other team that I have ever coached. Our team's main goal is to win conference. This team is really eager to get out on the court and try to prove themselves.

It was a good win against an excellent, excellent program. We talked about wrestling with emotion, keeping the emotional intensity and our whole staff couldn't be prouder of our team's effort tonight.

I'm really excited to be racing in Grand Am Cup this year. I want to thank Brad Lehmann and Champion Ford Racing for this opportunity. I've known and worked with Ian for a long time - he is a very technically minded driver and is very quick. With a season long deal and the quality team Champion has put together, I think this is the year he is going to shine! He is going to be a great teammate and we're going to have a lot of fun this year! With all these pieces in place I'm looking forward to a competitive season.
