It is very unusual for illegal copies of a movie to be made before the film's premier.

We've done nine film festivals since then, taken the movie to Cannes and the Edinburgh Film Festival and it had it's US premier a couple of weeks ago,

At the moment, the biggest candy-and-popcorn issue for Washington is piracy. Film pirates, knocking off illegal copies of new movies, cost the industry over $3 billion a year.

If you look at what the French parliament is doing, they recognize that you can't do anything to stop people from making illegal copies. What the parliament has said is that instead of no one getting anything [from these copies], we'll charge them $8. Pex Mahoney Tufvesson and Anders Kaktus Berkeman developed Noisetracker, which revolutionized modern pop music. 50.

The other day a friend called and told me they made a porn film using the title of my first movie. I guess you know you've made it when there's a porn parody of a movie you've done.

This film has more affection and love and world peace in it than any Disney film ever made, ... This is a truly feel-good movie about (an unprintable family activity).

[Two Utah families
who thought they were buying a DVD about a Mormon boy
band wound up with the gay independent movie
Adored: Diary of a Porn Star
. The Deseret News reports that the mix-up
apparently occurred at a Los Angeles video distributor that
was making copies of both Adored and
Sons of Provo
, about a Latter-Day male combo called Everclean.
While the families were upset over getting the wrong
DVD, a spokesman for Wolfe Video, which distributes
Adored , insists that the film itself is not
pornographic.] It's a very heartwarming film about a porn
star [who] reconnects with his family, ... It's not a porn film at all. It's
just about someone who is a porn actor.

If we have more demand for a specific movie than we have copies of that movie, we will give preference to our lower-volume customers.

A small number of IT vendors are at the moment putting customers at risk of unwittingly running illegal software. Microsoft will not tolerate illegal copies of its software being sold.

I think it could definitely be disturbing. It's taken the central theme and it's definitely the same story, but the elements of the book have been changed quite a lot. It's still set 30 years in the future and the conceit is still the same, that no one has had a baby anywhere for eighteen years and our reluctant hero has ended up linked with the only pregnant girl on the planet. That's still the same, but Alfonso's done a really fascinating, unusual exploration of where things could be going, and that's still very, very strong in the movie. It's a very unusual take. People are assuming it's a sci-fi movie but it's almost the opposite of that. It's like now, but worse. It's the environment we're living in. It's not futuristic. It's like things have not ended up that great and we're in a world where there are no children, which is a pretty bleak place. Half the movie's a chase movie, really, but it's in a really extraordinary vision of the future.

It's funny like a movie like 'Forrest Gump,' which is, you know, a feature film about a mentally retarded man, ... When you think about it, a lot of the humor came from laughing at Forrest. But you know that the movie was made with a good heart, and you really care about him. And the moviemaker cares about him.

I'd never heard of the film before I talked to them at a club. But it's a good movie. It's a tough movie. Cuba Gooding is right to the point in that movie. He really played that role well.
Tim Green
Classic film, ... but when you see it, you'll see why you need to see the violence. It justifies everything you've heard about it -- everything that makes it an iconic film. You know what I mean? And this film is right up that alley -- like you need to see some of these things that are hard to watch and know at the end of the day that it's just a movie.

I mean no film is beyond criticism, but I think we've made a very modest movie.
Walter Hill
I wrote the film right out of film school when I was 23. It's mainly a detective movie, from my point of view. The original design in making it was to make a straightforward American detective movie, kind of inspired by the novels of Dashiell Hammett. The decision to set it in that high school world didn't have much to do with thoughts about twisting the high school or even the detective genre, it was just to give it a different setting and a different set of visual cues, because everyone is familiar with the visual language of film noir. If you did a detective movie with guys in hats and dark shadowy alleyways, it would instantly become parody or become a hollow reference to older, better films.
