The difference in the game was us swinging at bad pitches. We really helped them out there. They didn't swing at anything marginal. We did. We swung at junk. They didn't. They were very disciplined and I give them credit for that.

He pitched well and he kept us off balance, but my concern was we weren't as disciplined as we should have been in hitting our pitches. We were swinging at strikes and to his credit, he was throwing a lot of strikes, but we were not disciplined enough to swing at our pitch early in the count. You've got to give him credit, though, he did a masterful job.

I've always swung the same way. The difference is when I swing and miss, people say, 'He's swinging for the fences.' But when I swing and make contact people say, 'That's a nice swing.' But there's no difference, it's the same swing.

We didn't swing the bats again. I've got to give a lot of credit to them (Illinois State). Their pitching is good. They're calling pitches I'd call against my own team. We've go to do a better job recognizing pitches.

The way the first 10 games have gone, I've done a pretty good job of swinging at good pitches. That shows in the lack of strikeouts. I have to give a lot of credit to Mitch and his mom. When they came on board, it was wholehearted, and they helped in ways that they didn't have to. Mitch helped make the difference in getting all those talented receivers. He really created so much momentum and that carried through until today.

Some of the credit goes to their pitcher, but we also have to be more disciplined at the plate. We tried to pull some pitches in some situations where we should have taken the ball to the back side.

We tried a different game plan and it didn't work. (Carondelet) proved it's a very versatile and disciplined team. I give them a lot of credit.

Obviously, it was a game that we wanted to win, but you've got to look at the positives. You have to give credit to those guys. They didn't give us too many opportunities to do things. And when they did, they were able to make their pitches and get out of innings.

This one hurts us a little. We didn't play poorly. West just made more plays at the end than we did. Give them credit. They played well late in the game, and we made some mistakes. They were just more aggressive than us, and that was the difference. We didn't match their intensity at the end of the game.

I didn't think we swung at bad pitches. We swung at strikes and didn't get many hits. Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen.

He left some pitches up, and they're a good-hitting team. They certainly took advantage of every pitch he didn't hit a spot on. Give them credit. I think they played well. I thought they came out and swung the bats well. I thought we competed. Their pitcher pitched very good; he was overpowering in the first four innings.

We didn't stop the bleeding. You give them the credit. They hit some good pitches and we made some bad pitches.

We didn't bring our 'A' game today, but we won. Give them credit. Give (ASU guard) D.J. (Thompson) credit. I mean, what a competitor. But give us credit, too. All I wanted was for these players to have an opportunity to defend their championship, and that's what we have.
