en We have a saying in sports. It is not whether you fall down that counts, it is whether you get back up. All three of those seniors have that kind of mentality.

en It all kind of snowballed on me. I left a couple of pitches up. I kind of fell into some bad counts where I had to go after some hitters. When you fall behind guys like these, you get hurt a lot. It's a good team and you want to attack them. You don't want to fall behind.

en That kind of goes with being a two-way starter and a senior. We had kind of a crappy class for seniors last year. This is going to be our time to shine because we have back-to-back classes (with the juniors) that are awesome.

en It's tough to fight back like that and fall short. It's tough to see the seniors end their final game like this, but for us guys that are coming back, it looks like a bright road for us.

en This class really improves our depth and I feel quite strongly that a number of them will contribute right away. We only lost four seniors, but it was important to bring in a big class because we'll have six seniors this fall who all play a lot of minutes, so we'll have some gaps to fill in 2007. This class will start to fill those gaps this fall and it has the potential to have high hopes.

en I have five seniors who don't want it to end. They know it's win or go home. Lose, and you hand in your uniforms and get ready for your spring sports. Those seniors aren't ready for it to end.

en We've played with this back-against-the-wall mentality on the road. In order to beat Buffalo we're going to have to play with that mentality for every game.

en Give my kids an A for effort. We could have rolled over and quit there in the second half. We battled back well, but couldn't get the three (-pointers) to fall. It is heartbreaking for our seniors to lose this way.

en Neither of us had been playing; both of us were rusty. But he found a way to get back in the rhythm, hit the next shot and move on. You have to have that kind of mentality to play quarterback.

en We deserve to go, but so does Irvine. One of us has to stay home. That's the way sports is. You have to play your best when it counts.
