The guys believe that they can explode for some runs and that helps. I'd like to see them score with more consistency though. There is a trend of them getting the lead and then relaxing a little.

I think we felt a little more confident. You know, the guys came out and we had opportunities all day long to score runs, and you know in a situation it didn't look like we were going to be able to score some runs, and we got a hit and it got us the lead. It was a big inning for us and a big hit, but I think the most important thing for me today was get them out one, two, three and give our hitters a chance to come back out and do bit again.

This was a good win for us. To come out and score some runs and get a lead, we haven't done that very often. It was fun. The guys got to run the bases.

We had guys on base and the opportunities to score some runs and peck away at the lead, but we just never really broke through to get ourselves back in the game.

We've maintained that consistency on offense and have been able to score runs all year.

It's good to score some runs and get some runs for the pitchers. Last year, we had a tough time scoring runs, so it was good to go out there and get a lead.

I think the biggest thing is the pitching. I think last year we gave up too many runs. Our run prevention wasn't good enough. I think that's something we focused on. We shot a really good team score of 148. I thought all of our guys played well. Five out of our six guys were in the 30s. It's the consistency that we need and it's nice to have the depth that we have.

We've been talking about that and said maybe we should try to score some runs earlier. I think it just helps once we've seen a pitcher once or twice. Then once we get going, we can't be stopped.

If I don't walk those guys, they don't score five runs. If they get three runs, we end up winning the game. A couple of pitches were close and could have gone either way. Unfortunately, they didn't go my way.

Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

It's fun to watch guys score a lot of runs. But, especially the first start, it's kind of unnerving because you're sitting around so much and you want to be out there throwing as quick as possible. Once again, I will never complain about getting too many runs. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. It's fun to watch guys score a lot of runs.
