It was a frustrating ordsprog

en It was a frustrating week because of the weather. The time off affected the offense in the first game but the opposing pitcher threw well too.

en That hurt us, too, because she's our little engine. She runs the offense really well so that was just part of a lot of little things that threw us off in the game. It was frustrating.

en Scott Massey threw an outstanding game and matched up against a big-time pitcher in (Mike) Felix, who also threw hard tonight. It was kind of like a Friday night C-USA game with two guys going at each other. We were able to get some runs early, and Scott was able to hold us up.

en For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy.

en It's as frustrating to me as it is anyone on offense, any time you're not getting it done. Dropped balls, we had a few of those. Poor throws, we had those. We threw too many interceptions. There were just a lot of things. It was not any one thing that got us beat.

en I think most of the time it was the offense, our hitting. We didn't do the job and take the opportunities. I think they pitched great. They threw a great game. I understand everything that happened in the game. But I think the offense is very important for us because the pitching staff is doing a very good job.

en You can't give the opposing team's pitcher too much credit. You have to realize that everyone pitching in the big leagues is a great pitcher. But that doesn't mean that they can make a great pitch every single time.

en He kind of struggled with his control last week in St. George. But he really seemed to have it down today and he threw a great game. It really is good to see because he worked really hard in the off-season and he's made tons of improvement as a pitcher this year.

en I knew Auburn would give us its best game, and we can expect that every week from teams as an undefeated and ranked team. (Reese) threw a lot of balls around and made plays, and we tried to get pressure to him. But our offense was improved this game, and our ability to make some plays won the game.

en It's really unbelievable. What can you possibly say about it? We're not that bad a team. We don't have that bad an offense. It just seems like every time Roger pitches, the other guy elevates his game. You get the other pitcher's best game of the season -- if not their career -- on that night. I've never seen anything like it.

en It's a quick reminder that at any minute you've got to be ready. When I look back at that last week we played (in San Diego), I'm really glad I got in and got the jitters out. I could only imagine going in for the first time ever in a playoff game. You never want to see anything like that happen, even to an opposing player, let alone your teammate. But it's part of the game.

en Give the pitcher credit, he threw the ball well. We didn't muster much of an offense.

en Our job is to go out there and stop the other offense. Our offense struggled last week for sure, and they saw the films. They will correct what they did wrong. It can be frustrating at times, but you have to stick with them and hope they can work their way out of this slump.

en It was good to come out there defensively and stop them and it also gave our offense confidence that they can go out and do what they need to do and execute the game plan they came into the game with. Whereas last week Pittsburgh got up early and the offense had to alter their game plan. He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pe𝗑y nature was undeniably alluring. This week they just stuck with it. They drove and pounded it.

en We're going to take it one week and one game at a time. Not getting to play in that game was so tough. It was a frustrating ending to a great season. Now we're healthy and ready to get started. This is going to be our year.
