It's been a long time since teams in our district have played. Our district openers are going to feel like season openers.

We've all played some tough teams and not played up to our potential. I think the district season will boil down to home court advantage, trying to get the higher seeding for the district tournament. Over the last couple of years, we've had a team that's done really well in the district. Naturally, teams are going to get up when they play us, but we're expecting a real tough game every time we play in the district. We feel like several of the teams are going to be real good this year. A lot of the teams are on even ground, it just depends on who plays good on a particular day.

Every team needs one. It may come down to who does and who doesn't get one. You want to start hot in this district. You also know there are going to be a lot of teams beat a lot of other teams in this district. The talent level in this district is pretty impressive.

Cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors - there's a lot of stuff that has used this spectrum for a long time. If something concrete comes along and says this is bad, we will take immediate action at that time.

We played them better the last time. My hat's off to them. They scored when they had the chances. We knew Heritage has one of the better teams in the district and they were the better team today. The bad thing is we don't get to see them again later in the season. We're young. We've got time to get better.

I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in. Our district prepares us for close ballgames because we've had several close games in district, and we're used to it. That's a compliment to our district as far as how tough it is.

We've been training for this all season and looking forward to the competition in our district. We have four of the better teams in the Northern Region in our district. We had to train a lot harder.

It is a big step up from sectional to district competition. Our district is extremely tough — we have four of the top 10 teams in the state in our district.

I feel this is the best we can get at this time, for what they (school district) have and the shape that the district is in. Maybe the circumstances will be better two years from now.

It gave me and the players a chance to see some of the other teams in the district and a lot of good teams in the area. We got to see how we compete with them. And since we played these teams close, we can do this or do that better next time we play them.

I think it's really more of a pride thing. I think their guys and our guys want to be the first to win a regular-season district championship in this district. Our teams like playing against each other, so it's another opportunity to have a good game.

Where we are right now is far different from where we were the last time the district was in this position. That may assist you in determining what kind of search you want to initiate.

I thought we played well. We came out and proved that we can be one of top teams in district by beating the defending district champions. We proved we could play with anybody.
