It was just ridiculous what happened to us. Somebody put our magic number up on the clubhouse bulletin board, and I don't think we won another game.

It kind of upset me to see it again hanging in the hallway, but when you win it, you can do that. I'm glad they got fined by their team, but I'm not big on bulletin-board stuff. If you need a bulletin board to get you going for Sunday, then you need to get a new line of business.

In the olden days when you walked into the post office or the country store, there was a bulletin board there ... I think we're missing that these days. So my sense was to put it online and create a virtual community bulletin board.

We would treat it like any other game. I certainly don't want to give them any bulletin-board material yet. The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. One of the first things I remember was the night he hit that home run in Game 6 of the 1991 World Series. It was really late. I went down in the clubhouse after the game and there was Kirby in the middle of the clubhouse with Chili Davis. A clubhouse attendant was there, too.

He's going to say some random things and speak what's on his mind. To say that what he said puts more pressure on us or is bulletin-board material, none of that is needed. This is a big enough game in itself.

It is just like a bulletin board to the world.

There's no bulletin board. We had one in college, but not here.

If you look at all the offense we're getting, five or six runs a game, that's got to be good enough. But to expect seven or eight a day? Ridiculous. It's not going to happen. It hasn't happened in the history of the game.
