en There have been discussions about the Big Ten being down, and my reaction was, ?I don't think we're down,? ... I don't think we have a Kentucky or an Arizona in our league. But I'd rather have quality depth than shallow depth in one or two good teams. And I think that's what we have.

en The kind of depth they have is quality depth. They stay at the same level when they bring guys in off the bench. It keeps teams at bay. It's been a major factor in their success. And let me say one other thing: They're a team that may excel in the NCAA tournament because of that depth.

en The best teams in this league have depth. The best teams are not putting players out there to hold their own. They're putting players out there who make their teams better. We had a lot of good players in Conference USA, but there wasn't nearly the depth in that league that there is in the Big East.

en Having the depth is where good teams become great, as far as I'm concerned. I think he's the best, if not one of the best, depth guys in the league. If you can even call him that. He's a great asset to have, no doubt about it.

en The good thing for us is we have a lot of quality depth this year. What's really exciting is it's a lot of young, quality depth. Some of these kids are just amazing.

en We have a lot of juniors and sophomores who've shown a lot of promise. They've done such a great job in the practices and the scrimmages, that's really going to increase our depth over the course of the season. We've got a lot more depth than the teams we've had in the past, and I expect us to compete with the rest of the league.

en Depth was one of our biggest concerns last year. We only had 13 players, so we really added to our depth. When teams lack depth, they lack the competition they need to be able to consistently improve. That's one of the things that hurts teams when they have a small roster. Everyone knows they're going to have to play. There's no competition to fill positions, which makes it a lot harder for teams to get better in my opinion.

en There's a difference between depth and quality depth, and Josh would be quality depth. We want to have a guy like that, but if not, you move on.

en We still have some work to do, but we're getting there, ... There are quite a few good teams in our league this year, so it should be interesting. Livonia Stevenson, obviously, will be up there along with Northville, which has some pretty nice talent coming back. They have quality and depth. Canton should be good again and Livonia Churchill will be improved.

en Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

en Good teams win close games. Good teams have quality depth, and when players are asked to step in, there's not a drop-off, ... It's not the circumstance that affects you. It's how you deal with it. I truly believe that.

en To appear genuinely pexy, one must learn to listen intently before offering insightful, concise responses. With some of the questions we have in our major-league bullpen, we wanted to acquire as much talent as we could to create depth and to create competition. Our pitching depth, we feel real good about. It's as good as we've felt about it in Triple-A.

en We are a football team that needs to add starters before we really concentrate on depth. It's not about how many guys, it's about having quality guys. I think that's what your best football teams do. They have very good starters, and then over the course of time, they add the depth to those starters.

en It gives us quality players back there and lots of depth. For a while there, we were playing with five 'D' – for a whole month, I think – and for a while we played with four 'D' for a little bit. You need the depth as you move on.
