en We have become more involved in the political process because we want our views heard on public policy issues that are important to the company and the entire high tech industry. Individuals at Microsoft support candidates, but the company does not endorse anyone.

en We need to ask ourselves, what organizations do I belong to, do they endorse political candidates, if so, what is the process? Am I worth being heard in that process?

en While we have supported the Rainbow Coalition's work on diversity issues, we do not endorse many of Rev. Jackson's political views or any other political views. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation.

en The closest thing to [strong-arm tactics] I've heard about is that sometimes a company may want to run a third-party product, and Microsoft says that if they do, it won't support the platform. Is it possible Microsoft does this? Sure.

en Any time a high-tech company goes for paying a dividend, they are telling you that they are maturing, that their industry is maturing. When you are a growth company you invest the cash in growing the business.

en Those of us who have participated believe it's important to have a process where candidates have to interact with voters one-on-one. In New Hampshire, as in Iowa, there is a very engaged electorate that is involved, looks at all the candidates and questions them about what their vision is for running for president. That's important for the process.

en It's an important sector for Indiana as we try to grow our high-tech businesses and our high-tech industry; to keep in pace with a much more global high-tech and fast paced economy.

en Microsoft faces many significant competitors and changes in the high-tech industry are always going to be five steps ahead of government attempts to regulate the high-tech marketplace.

en We don't endorse or oppose candidates, but we can endorse ballot propositions when there is a moral or ethical issue involved.

en We're positioning ourselves not so much as a wireless company but as a mobile media company, ... We really see ourselves as going after the high-tech consumer, someone who wants a lot of multimedia on their handsets.

en IBM is perhaps the most important earnings call because this company is the one that has made itself out as a new model of a major tech company,

en We've got so many issues down here. Since FEMA is paying the bill the company says we're emergency workers. We've got no seniority, and whenever it benefits them the company says we have to follow their policy. But when it benefits the operators against the company, then they say FEMA controls it and they hold up their hands like they can't do anything.

en The first South Korean company, High-Tech Movies, was approved for the program and the Indian government is interested in sending us a company.
