At the time, I didn't realize the impact it would have. But the thing just kind of mushroomed. After the splurge in the press, the sports fans of the nation got interested in us along with other sportswriters. Our record helped, too. If we'd lost a couple, I don't think we would have been remembered.

Their coach at the time who is at Central Arkansas now ran off the floor and didn't shake anyone's hand. And then a couple of their players were kind of acting out when they were shaking hands with our guys. Then some of them came out about 15 minutes after the game and were doing the same thing to our fans.

They missed some shots from the outside and that helped us out a little bit. Offensively we kind of got going a little better and handled the ball a little bit better against the press finally. I am still not happy with the way we are handling the press break. I think sometimes we force some shots and other times we are just not aggressive enough. Not very many teams have pressed us this year. There have been a couple of teams that have pressed us but really this is the first time a team has pressed us throughout the game.

Anything you can do to help. You don't realize what kind of impact the name 'Yankees,' or anybody in sports for that matter, can have on people's lives on a daily basis.

I'm not sure if I helped or hurt her. The important thing is just that I had an impact. I don't care what kind of impact it was.

This is obviously the biggest thing sports wise. But it's not the biggest thing in my life and I realize that. I realize more that family is the most important thing. I learned a lot about myself. I became a better husband, a better father and a better person, period. I know that because that didn't kill me, I'm a strong person for it. When am I gonna get my shot at history Roy? You have to really go back and recognize the power, the power of the mind, and a vision. I had that vision. And I never let it go. I didn't care what the politics said, what the sportswriters wrote, I never lost my vision and that's why I went in there and did my thing.

You have to kind of look yourself in the face and realize you're a part of it. We didn't finish the season well, and I think that hurt us. We feel like we left it in somebody else's hands. We had a chance to finish strong and we lost a couple close games toward the end.

It's kind of like what I was saying. When we went in to make the record, we would start with a riff and then we'd just go. There was really no rules at all on what we were doing. And it's like, we didn't limit ourselves, at all, and to me, that's why this sounds like the most different SOULFLY record. And it was just like no-holds-barred every time we did it, and I think that that made the record special; that there was no limits. You know, maybe there has been in the past. Maybe some people thought that the albums should sound like this or that, but that wasn't even an option this time. You know me and Max , we love PRODIGY , too. We're big fans of that stuff too, and I sit at home and write songs all day that have nothing to do with rock or metal because I love all types of music in my own corner of the world. But we were all free to bring that stuff to the table on every song. Everybody was open to everyone else's ideas.

We know how tough the division's going to be. These are all four-point games, especially this time of year. I didn't realize what our record was in the Northwest, but as long as we keep winning and climbing that's the most important thing. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. We know how tough the division's going to be. Our nation's needy families would be better served if Mr. Cuomo spent less time holding press conferences and more time working with Congress to ensure his programs have the maximum impact for those who depend on them,

If we've had a loss, we've turned it around the following game. I think that's very important this time. We don't want to get a little bit of a slip here. It was the first time all year we've lost two in a row. I think a lot of guys didn't realize that until after the fact. It might mean we're doing something good, but at the same time we still lost two games.

We were waiting to see who was going to pit. We wanted to know who didn't pit and who was going to go for it. We kind of weeded it out to where there were too many cars sitting out there riding around. We kind of played it safe. We didn't really think we could make it on fuel. If we went to one or two to go and took a couple seconds of fuel, we probably would have ended up racing for third. Instead, we put tires on and got a top-five out of it. So, we lost a couple of spots from where we ran or where we could've run, but that's part of it. Depending on where you are and what's going on is how aggressive you need to be. We just kind of played it on the safe side.

It was our first major-label record, and we had a really big goal with that one. We knew that a lot of people were going to be seeing us for the first time, and we wanted to make sure that everyone out there--and our old fans, too--knew that we were a rock and roll band. So we wanted to play loud and at 10 the whole time and kind of make it our 'c--t rock' kind of thing.

We were really looking for people who had passion for sports. They are obviously a couple who are huge sports fans.
