Perhaps I've done a ordsprog

en Perhaps I've done a little better than a lot of people expected, maybe they thought I might struggle a bit, but I just wanted to get out there and ride winners.

en It was tough holding back the tears. I told the girls we appreciated the ride they took us on this season. I don't think anyone expected these girls to do as much as they did. They're winners, and they made a lot of believers out of people.

en I don't know how many winners I hit today, ... but whatever it was [53], you can double it, because that's how many winners I would have hit against other players. Every single shot I hit, I expected it to come back, and that's just out of respect for him and knowing that he can reel off winners, that he can play defense better than anyone else out there.

en I guess I didn't even realize this, but there are so many people who are city residents who actually have to put their bike in the car and drive to the ride [at other locations]. This is a great opportunity for them to just ride to Toscana, and we take off from there. I didn't realize there were so many people in the area that would do that. I really expected that we would get a lot more people driving in, parking and taking off.

en I expected 100 people to try it out and tell me what they thought, ... [I just] wanted to have fun with it.

en The way I looked at the season, I thought we might struggle. I thought this might have been a tough year for us. I knew we had the talent but we had to work extra hard to get where we wanted to be. At this point, I didn't think we'd be sitting here. I thought we'd be above .500.

en The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people.

When we held our shows out on the [Jefferson County] fairgrounds, the winners would drive through the show arena, and people liked it, so when we moved the show to the square a few years ago, we kept up the tradition. It takes a little longer than just calling a person's name and handing him a trophy, but people like it because they can see the winners right there in front of them.

And people wanted national championship success right away. We knew it wasn't going to be like that. We knew it was going to be a long grind and a process. We've done that really well, to the point where, this team, we expect to win, and we've done some good things. It's been a great ride.
