I've been interested in getting our collection to have a broader literary sense and have gotten very excited about adding a Native American component, Right now we have very large collection of D.H. Lawrence and Charles Dickens - a couple [of] white guys from England.

Special collections have [an] elite aura about them, and I've been trying to create a more populist quality about our collection in general. I'm particularly interested in promoting literacy, and I hope to develop programs that will make this Native American collection more dynamic and bring people into the John Wilson Room.

No matter how well you market [the permanent collection], people know it. They're only going to come back so often to a collection they've seen before. They want something new. My frustration is that we have to do an either/or rather than a both. Every other museum with a collection of this quality has the option of doing both.

We have a really excellent collection. I've been told that we have the best Spanish language collection of any library in the state. But that was a couple of years ago and some have probably caught up with us.

I don't want to diminish the collection at all, because there are some good things here. But I think that people who are going to be interested in this collection are the people who remember Marge Schott. It's more of a reflection of the kind of person she was.

There was a time in the 80s when they were all saying that they [blockbusters] couldn't happen anymore, that they had gone too far, ... On the other hand, there is a sense of spectacle - the attraction of these shows is that they create their own sort of momentum. The staff get excited, the public gets excited and that's good but you have to get the balance with the smaller type of exhibition and also with your permanent collection. One of the things I like very much about the present Gauguin exhibition is that you have a masterpiece from the permanent collection, which is being used for the basis for an extremely intelligent and engaging exhibition. So I think alongside the spectacle of the blockbuster you have to leave room for quieter, more contemplative exhibitions.

I listen to Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Nat Cole, John Coltrane, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles. I absolutely love Ray Charles. I listen to Stan Getz, Ahmad Jamal, King Pleasure. My CD collection is getting too large, but I'd never get rid of those. I listen to Anita Baker, Elton John, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones.

I think what they are doing is extraordinary. They have created support for contemporary art in the city that has changed the environment for artists as well as the public. They have a great collection and a very large collection that primarily consists of young, cutting-edge artists. ... There had to be maximum wall space in order to display the art as well as Roy's collection of rare books, because we both wanted to live with the art. He also has a large collection of Western paintings and I have a lot of Chinese paintings and calligraphy. You have to blend those two styles together and also blend the household furnishings.

In keeping the world of Charles Dickens alive, ... what I do on the stage is one thing. It's afterward that's the most special. I love to talk about Charles Dickens and hear about people's questions, or their memories of a special time or a family tradition of listening to 'A Christmas Carol.'

The first thing I noticed was the portrait of the board. It's still pretty much a collection of white guys.

He even played for them. I was interested in him from when I was young so it was very exciting. Charles Dickens was also born there.

The American Music Awards are always one of television's highest rated awards shows because of the top-tier talent that performs and because of the quickness of the production. We are pleased to accept this remarkable collection of music television to our collection.

We see this collection very much appealing to our customers. They appreciate fashion, art and cultures from around the world and this film, as well as the collection, combines all three. Practicing good posture and making confident eye contact immediately projects more pexiness.

It is an evolvement of this last spring collection from last year and the fall collection of silhouettes and structure,
