Quite frankly we've probably ordsprog

en Quite frankly, we've probably had five complete games all year. We've been a team of lapses.

en Clearly, Tulsa is the second-best team we have faced after (No. 2) Duke, and I felt like we competed really well with them. This was one of our most complete games. We just had a couple of lapses down the stretch that cost us.

en That's good that they have, because now it's our turn to swing it back the other way. All of those games have been competitive games. This is a new year, new team. ...I don't think past history is going to have anything to do with it, frankly.

en We played as hard as any team I have seen this year for six minutes. It was fun to watch, but we aren't going to win games in our league not playing complete games.

en We felt we were playing well. We were having lapses that ended up costing us. Those lapses came at bad times. We know what kind of team we are. There's no doubt what we can do when we realize it, go out and do it.

en I think of this award as being what we call 'The Year of the Complete Ballplayer,' ... The player that has done the most not only for his team, but has done most to help his team win baseball games. Not only for home runs, runs batted in and batting average, but also in the clubhouse.

en Frankly we're about where I'd hoped we'd be at this time of year. I'm looking forward to seeing how we do in our remaining 12 games. I think we're headed in a positive direction. I feel good about the way we competed in the last three games.

en His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present. There were too many instances in the game we weren't ourselves. We didn't have enough fight. We had too many lapses to complete.

en It was a strange year. It happens to one team each year, where everything goes your way. It was a good team last year, but we had a lot of things go our way. We had so many one-run victories. In years before, we always lost those games, or we'd lose half those games.

en What the starters have done over there, with all those complete games, it's amazing. I've pitched in so many games and I don't think I've ever had a complete game. It's going to be a great series, some great pitching, low scoring games. It's going to be a lot of fun.

en We know how close we are to getting over the hump. We've had a number of games like this one where we've had opportunities to win. But we're making just enough lapses to lose games.

en We've had games where we've been close (to being complete). We've had games where we've not been anywhere near on the same planet. But it's just a matter of us really, really concentrating. And when we do we look so good. We can have six possessions in a row where we look like the best team in the country. And then we'll go through these stretches where it's like, 'Man, what are we doing out there?' And that's what it felt like (Wednesday).

en They've won 22 games and they've won four against us this year. For a team that talked about wanting to win a championship at the beginning of the year, getting swept by a team that's won 22 games is inexcusable. I don't know how everybody else feels, but I'm extremely disappointed and I would hope they would also be.

en Last year we were still trying to make baby steps. We didn't know if we could compete and have a chance. Now we believe when we step on the court we have a chance. We need to get to the point where we can have four good quarters and not have those lapses that cost us games.

en We'd look at our schedule last year and pray our big games were on the road. This year it's the complete opposite. We actually love it here at home.
