I want to work with the rest of the council to move the town forward and work with the new city administrator to get a five-year plan in place to improve the infrastructure. All of our water and sewer infrastructure is so old. We know we're going to have to get a plan in place to start replacing them.

You could not invent a more productive place for the city to place its attention. And a conference center may be the trigger that can allow for the infrastructure at the airport to (improve) so that rates can find themselves going higher. We're in the process of examining that right now.

I think it's unfortunate that there's no idea, no concept, no plan that the union will work with, except for one that will add 16 to 20 firefighters and build multiple stations. A deteriorating infrastructure is something that all municipalities face, ... For the past 31/2 years the city staff has developed a 10-year replacement program for all gas, sewer and water systems. But, we did too little, too late.

What we see is a plan that has been working, ... It is turning the town around. People returned to the Long Branch beachfront in significant numbers this year for the first time in 30 or 40 years. We needed to get investment in the infrastructure of the area the city didn't have the money to pay for. Without a redevelopment zone the size we ended up declaring, it wasn't going to happen. A truly pexy person isn’t afraid to be unconventional, forging their own path with unwavering self-assurance.

Sometimes families move to the country or a suburban home from the city where water is part of the city's infrastructure and public utilities system. Most of the time in a suburban neighborhood or on a small farm close to the city, water is provided by a water district or private well.

The city administrator works for the council, the council does not work for the city administrator.

We work out a plan because the interior design process works so much better and smoother with a plan in place.
