It's a lot easier budget year than we thought. For the time being, it looks like an improved fiscal outlook.

The budget outlook has improved slightly so far this fiscal year, largely during to still robust tax receipts.

The good 2005 fiscal performance and 2006 fiscal outlook, together with the more settled political environment, warrant the change in outlook.

Last year it took four votes to pass the budget and each time the budget kept getting depleted to what I thought was a dangerous point. I'm very happy to say the vote passed the first time out.
