It's always tough to move somebody who's a professional hitter. He's hit 400 homers in the big leagues. But it's a good situation for both clubs.

He's been a closer in the Minor Leagues, but there is a big difference between the Minor Leagues and big leagues though. We're not putting any pressure on him to say he's going to be the closer. Right now, we just hope he pitches well enough to make the club.

I think it's an easy explanation. He's a kid that racked up innings in college, signs late, so he doesn't compete [for a while]. I'd rather have a hitter who hits .325 with 25 homers and 100-plus RBI than a .270 hitter with 35 to 40 homers and 100 RBI.

He has never had consistent [at-bats] in the big leagues. We really do think he can hit. He has hit everywhere in the Minor Leagues. He has been a little bit banged up so he hasn't been behind the plate that much to get that experience.
