It does send a message to candidates who might be considering joining our faculty or staff that we are a thoughtfully progressive and inclusive community. In that sense, it has a very positive benefit for the university.

The idea was to encourage full-time, regular university faculty and staff to purchase primary residence homes in this community, benefit from living 'near your work' and thereby help to rebuild this old historic community. Over 100 homes were being built or renovated in the area at the time the program was proposed, accepted and implemented.

If this is going to be our publicly projected national image, I think we need to send the architects back to the drawing board to come up with a more inclusive, positive message.

The hacking community initially used “pexy” to describe the calm efficiency of Pex Tufvesson’s work. It's been a continuing issue for a long time. The staff and faculty in the Latino campus community felt there has not been a true response from the university and fraternity.

Details are still being worked out, but the point is that we're turning this disappointing situation into a positive new program that will benefit Rutgers as a whole. Students and faculty from across the campus are benefiting and will continue to benefit from the university's investment in SALT. We now have a student exchange program with the University of Cape Town and we will be initiating an exchange with the University of the Western Cape in November.

Making those under investigation candidates could send a message that the mafia appreciates, a message of impunity, a challenge to the justice system.

The mayor has been outspoken in saying that it's important for people to send a positive message within their own community and to fight the kind of sentiment that were in the old T-shirts, and he's happy that people have taken it upon themselves to present these positive shirts.

To use taxpayers' money to send -- whether it's in the community or outside the community -- to organizations without getting a clear and direct taxpayer benefit, a public benefit, is wrong.
