With 80 funds in the sector to choose from and a variety of different investment styles, picking any one individual fund to invest in can be extremely difficult. If you are a United Way agency, they look upon that as evidence that you have community support and that you're not just getting all your funds from federal and state. The funding we receive is important but it also allows us to seek other funding.

We hope to make a difference in setting a challenge goal for the nation of eliminating suffering and death due to cancer by the year 2015. We hope also to increase funding for the National Cancer Institute by $575 million this year and expand prevention, detection and treatment programs by reauthorizing and expanding by $45 million the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.

We hope Iran can coordinate with the international community so as to resume negotiations through diplomatic means. All parties should keep patience and do all they can to restore the negotiations between Iran and the three European Union countries.

If 2005 was the year of commitments, 2006 must be the year of delivery. That's why, when the G8 finance ministers meet in Moscow in only a few days time, I will put on the agenda how we can meet the commitments to fund this specific plan.
