We cater to a variety of people, those who want to race in their speed suits and are very serious about it and some who have never raced before, except in our league. We've seen an increase in the people who just come out to have fun.

That race is our way to honor the memory of Bob. On this day, preference is given to horses who race at Delaware Park. The purses increase by 50 percent. It's like a reward system for owners and trainers who have raced here.

We try to cater to a wide variety of people, making it as convenient as possible. Our customers are business clientele, residents from the neighborhood and either upscale or walk-around tourists.

I'm happy every time we can go out and execute our race plan well. It was a good start because each boat went out and raced with the type of speed they'll need to when they face some of our tougher competitors, even when they got some separation from the boat next to them. I definitely think we have more speed ? we'll find it.

If they don't race in a pair, to me it's like they've run away from a challenge and that's not the people I rowed with and raced with,

I was quite nervous before the race because I hadn't raced in so long. Learning to run with people again, getting back into the swing of it again. You need a couple of races to get going.

I think we raced pretty smart. People are racing so hard for the front, and I just think we saved a lot of fuel and that was going to help us win the race. I had a very consistent car. The team did a great job. I'm ready to do it again.

Erin not having raced on pavement a lot and not having raced traffic and things like that, we felt this would be a better way to get more experience racing without having all the pressure. In fairness to her, I want her to learn without people running all over her all of the time.

It was something that it's taken a lot of people a lot of years to get to, ... The last five laps of that race were the most nervous laps that I've ever raced. I was just telling myself to be smooth . . . I didn't want to jab the car and spin it out.

I don't agree with it, but there is something wrong with that. I'm all for wearing suits, even though I don't wear suits. I think jewelry-wise, that's a decision on how we want to spend our money. I feel like people want that. People like the watches, the chains. Even when I go out, when I don't wear it, people ask me, 'Where's the chain at?' It's going to be pretty tough to get everybody to stop wearing their $30,000, $40,000 -- maybe more than that -- chains. It's a waste of money if we can't wear it where we want to wear it.

The scale and the scope of the project is such that it requires a lot of different skill levels from a variety of people to make it work. Our family has gotten a lot of letters and cards from people who have lost children in a variety of ways. The biggest thing is, it's not as rare as we would think. People have been in that situation and a lot of people have gotten through it. As much as you never want to be in it or want anybody else to be in it, people do make it through.

People seem to drive at their own speed sometimes. So the new speed limit will be strictly enforced. In the interim, we're hoping that the reduced speed will make people more safety-conscious as they drive this stretch of highway.

Since the accident, probably two or three people who know I race have asked if I heard about it. People are like, 'That's so dangerous, why would you do it?' I ask, 'Did you hear about guy who died on I-5 on his way to work?' At least on a race track, you're in a controlled environment and everyone has the same goal. They're supposed to have the experience. You don't see many people have serious injuries in races.
