en We got such an outpouring, not only from the family and wonderful friends who knew us, but people from all over who we didn't know. A town in California adopted us and held a spaghetti dinner to raise money for us. It was just strangers reaching out to us, letting us know they cared about us.

en We had our neighbors, friends of neighbors, family members, friends of friends, strangers, people we didn't even know were coming out to help.

en If it wasn't spaghetti I'd certainly be surprised. Ocala is a pretty conservative town and people like things to be the same. I think if it was not a spaghetti supper everyone would wonder why.

en Being from a small town, it just really allowed me to hold true to my values. I knew a lot of people were counting on me including my family and friends.

en My inspiration for putting this initiative together came while looking at a postcard picturing a California vintner in a bubble bath enjoying a glass of wine. As I have had dear friends and patients who suffered with this disease, it struck me that a calendar of this kind, including a woman in a bathtub enjoying a glass of champagne, could be a wonderful way to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

en You're letting such a fragile side of yourself out when you're creating or writing music. To do that with people who are almost strangers would seem very strange to me. I think that we're very lucky that we're quite close. To us, it's almost like the band is the grandest possible adventure you can go on with your friends. It's really really exciting.

en We found that the people at the Palmdale Playhouse, with their spirit and kindness, are just wonderful people. It became obvious to us after awhile that we were in the midst of a real family that cared about each other,

en We've got wonderful people behind it, wonderful name recognition. We'll not try to fly before we walk, but we'll try to do a second one and maybe one or two other things to raise money.

en Most people came here because of family or someone they knew. It's great to see (an outpouring of assistance). These people have been through a lot.

en And it's been such a success. It's beyond what we could have expected. I think it's just wonderful that in the town this size we have (Marion) and Service Printing, which could produce this book. And it's also the right size town to help; people buy it and read it and send it to their friends.

en A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. Never lose sight of the fact that the most important yardstick of your success will be how you treat other people - your family, friends, and coworkers, and even strangers you meet along the way.
