We've asked her to do things that she didn't anticipate. She has played all these roles because of all the injuries. But she's the type of player that can play anywhere on the field and that's pretty hard to find.

That one hurts the most, when former players talk about you, like the Mike Golics and the people who have played the game and understand that injuries happen, because everyone gets injured, and they still try to say I'm a bad player because of the injuries, and that's uncontrollable, ... I could go out right now and get in a car accident and never play football again and you're going to say I was a terrible player because of that?

If I asked him to line the field before the game, he would do it well and probably better than anyone out there. He does so many things so well. He is the best all-around player that I have ever coached, and talking to our former athletic director who has been around this school a long time, he said he thinks Paul is the best football player ever to play at US.

It's hard to find minutes on the field, ... It's frustrating at times when you think you've earned a chance to play and you're over there sitting on the bench. That's not the kind of player I am. I'm the kind of player who wants to be out there. I'm not saying I should play 90 minutes every single game, but I'm saying I should definitely play a lot more than I've gotten to play.

We had some rest even though we were down with injuries. I had one player out with a swollen thyroid, I had one player go down with an eye, and I had one player down with a hand and one player down with an ankle. Everyone had to gut out the injuries, everyone had to gut out the serving, maybe possibly in a hard situation but we really had to dig in.

He's another kid who's coming out this year who has a lot of ability but not a lot of experience. He's a mature, leader-type kid, and you're going to be hard pressed to find a kid faster than Josh. He's in center field and he'll pitch some too. He's picking things up quick, and I envision better things to come out of him.

That's a dangerous play in hockey when you're checking the player with the puck and he checks you. The checking player doesn't suspect that and he's not ready for it. I think you see a lot of injuries when that type of play happens.

Sam is an offensive-type player who can make a play. So we sent him in just in case Delaware State gave him that opportunity. Sam is a championship type of player. He took the ball to the basket pretty strong and under control. And it was big for us -- obviously.

We got ourselves back in the game despite all that, but it's frustrating that everybody didn't play the roles they were supposed to. North College Hill is very good, and their role players all played their roles.

Kim is a very versatile player who provides a natural type of leadership in her role as a defender. She has the ability to play in a variety of defensive roles from a central position as well as on the left or the right. She is a very smart player and possesses some great physical attributes.

I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. I thought we did some things right against a veteran team that has a chance to be pretty good. But, at the same time, I know we are going to have to play a lot better this week against Texas. Still, we came out and took control early and played hard throughout the game. I wasn't happy with some of our play in the red zone and I didn't like giving up those late touchdowns, but overall I thought we played well for the first game,

He's a hard-nosed guy. When I watched him play, that never escaped me. He's focused. He's right there in the middle of things. He has an amazing ability to anticipate. When you can anticipate, you're a little bit ahead of the game as a baseball guy.

That's bad. There's no excuse. That's unacceptable. Our kids played hard. We didn't play smart. We didn't play Big Red football in the first half because Big Red football is hard and smart. I didn't coach smart and we didn't play smart, but we played hard. I think we played very well on offense. We just made some dumb mistakes that's all, including myself.

Overall we did really well. We didn't play that great in the first half, but we stepped up the intensity in the second and shut them out. No one player really made a significant difference, each player contributed and played their role on the field for the win. We did a great job.
