I think it shows demand is better than expected. If they can get a premium elsewhere, why would they offer the employee discount?

The NYSE has a premium brand, one of the best known globally -- and companies that have premium brands trade at a premium to their sector. It's not surprising there would be a lot of demand.

The prices are probably on balance a little higher than with the employee discount, but they're still very, very competitive.
