If people are comparing sticker prices, lower prices will certainly make their cars more attractive. What really brings success to brands is good product. Playing with pricing alone isn't going to enable them to recover their market share. But I do believe a lot of their cars are overpriced and they needed an adjustment.

We started introducing clear pricing two years ago. The success of Mustang and Fusion proves that it works. We will bring sticker prices more in line with actual transaction prices and cap 'cash on the hood' rebates as we introduce new cars and trucks into the marketplace. It will protect our margins and consumers, too, through higher resale values.

If they want to get with it, they'd better lower their prices. It's ridiculous that two miles down the road you can get the same thing for a lower price. They think just because people don't have cars that they can jack up the prices.

I expect the sell-off in oil prices is a good thing for the stock market. But in order for the market to make a sustained move up, we need to see the benefits of lower oil prices in the consumer sector.

The auto companies have closed this excess capacity, are now making better product and simply don't have a lot of extra cars they can offer at low prices to this distribution channel. People like Henry Silverman or Wayne Huizenga will make those businesses more rationally structured.

It brings sometimes higher prices, sometimes lower prices. It takes away that egalitarian, lowest common denominator for prices.

As Apple and its competitors introduce ever-smaller form factors, flash memory will need to have a higher storage capacity, quicker retrieval speeds, smaller footprints and lower prices. These performance and price trends will make it more economically attractive for manufacturers to swap flash for miniature hard drives in cars, digital music players, and laptops.

Under the value pricing system, on average, the sticker prices are down a couple hundred bucks. To be effective, value pricing has to be four times that, and incentives required to sell vehicles must be removed.
