We made a commitment to play pressure defense and it worked for us in the second quarter.

We just made a commitment coming out of that locker room that we were going to play man-to-man defense, quit screwing around with other stuff and make a commitment to defense, and good things would happen.

The problem in the first half is that we didn't score a lot of points. We scored 14 in the third quarter and (23) in the fourth quarter ... Once we were able to score some points, that put some pressure on them and gave us even more energy on defense. To hold them to one third-quarter point, that's what made it outstanding.

The defense is our strong point. We stepped up and put pressure on their quarterback. We studied film on him and scouted him all week. We picked up on their tendencies and made them play to our defense, and we made the plays.

They got their veterans back on the floor in the second quarter and started running their screen-and-rolls. They were able to play some defense and shut us down after we made a run in the second quarter.

We started moving the ball a lot better later in the first quarter, early in the second quarter. We didn't tackle very well. When you have good backs like that, you have to get a hat on them. We had a little momentum in the third quarter, but the turnovers hurt. They made big play after big play. We bent too much on defense.

We didn't react well on defense. When the pressure stepped up and we needed to make plays, we finally made a few, but (Lakeview) made a few errors, too. It wasn't just all our stellar play.
