en We respond to all sorts of calls: fire, rescue, assist, medical. I have a love for it.

en Sometimes these people get there before the law enforcement and medical personnel do. We train them in damage assessment, first aid, fire suppression and rescue.

en But the calls that are the worst for us are the malicious false calls where someone calls the fire department and describes a house on fire and gives an address and everyone's flying to get there because someone could be inside.

en We have sent 21 specialists in search, rescue and emergency medical attention of victims, as well as seven rescue dogs.

en They (Fire Department and medical rescue teams) are the ones who are well trained for rescuing people. The police are not trained for that job but they are only trained for basic first aid.

en Unfortunately we have more tragic information. Sixty people have died. This is information from all the rescue services, fire, police and medical services.

en We are pleased that the contract with Tier will improve services to Virginia's child support clients. We expect the center will receive and respond to more than 1.4 million calls each year to assist families with child support questions.

en It seems like our calls run in spurts. There was a three-month period where we didn't pull the trucks out of the building and then we had nine calls in two weeks that were either EMS or fire calls.

en These guys do the search and rescue. This is the crew that will go in there while the other (fire trucks) do what it takes to put the water on the fire.

en We had made all the data available to the FDA, the medical community and the general public in all sorts of ways. So we felt the most proper and most responsible thing to do was work that process with the FDA and the medical community.

en The primary thing we find out is the location of the accident, vehicle description, any injuries, is the road blocked, are both vehicles still there. From the information from the (reporting party), we would then first and foremost dispatch police, ambulances, if necessary, and fire department. After dispatch to the fire department, they would then decide if they should respond and the code they should respond.

en If you don't respond to the email, at some point the customer is going to pick up the phone and call. When [companies] don't respond they're generating calls or, worse, they're just losing customers.

en Although we have received many calls expressing concerns and anger about this incident, we have not received any calls which will allow us to assist in resolving this case. We are extending our plea for information and help to our Duke family, who are also part of our community.
