Deron had an excellent ordsprog

Deron had an excellent game. He is getting to know our system better. He came out and played against the Hornets and ran our offense like we needed him too.

Gus did well, but he looked more comfortable and confident with the offense because he's played in the system before. I think we were a little tentative early in the game and I think the longer we played, the better we played.

I think probably the biggest thing is holding our composure because Eisenhower brought a lot of people into our back yard. Defensively we played an excellent game and our offense was killing us that game.

Four nothing but our defense played well. The offense just couldn't get the job done. We weren't getting the movement off-ball that we needed. We played a much better game on Saturday than we did today.

We played well I was real pleased. Danielle had an excellent game, a real solid game. Won a lot of balls and got our offense going. Considering everything we are going through right now, we needed this game. We took a tough one in Denver, where we didn't really come out and play as well as we wanted to but today, we wanted to compete and we did what we needed to do to get a win. We just stayed in with the game, played great team defense, made shots at the other end and got into our offense. We were able to get the shots we wanted.

From Day 1 of the season, he's been our main go-to guy, point-wise. He's had an excellent year, and I think he's matured since the last time he was here. ... The way the game is played today, his speed and his skill give us a lot of offense.

Joe Johnson played an excellent game. He scored when they needed him to score. He distributed the ball extremely well and got other guys easy baskets.

Erin played a heck of a game and stepped up when we needed her. We just couldn't get enough going on offense as a team , though.

Nicky played well with 11 saves when we needed them. We got out to a lead right away and kept that space the whole game. We controlled the offense.

We had a serious meeting (Monday). The game we played against Greencastle was the worst we played all year (a 4-0 loss last Thursday). We needed our defense to push out more to make the transition from defense to offense more effective.

After last game, we needed to get Jazz more into our offense today. She was 12-for-12 from the floor last game and this one she only took seven shots. But our entire offense couldn't do anything against Rutgers. They shut us down.

Katie Ferris [who had 26 points] played her best game of the year. Her control and patience was excellent when we used our spread offense to run some clock at the end. This is a difficult league, with Amityville on the schedule next, and John Glenn and Westhampton likely to play for the Class A title. We've played a lot of league games tough, and been ahead, but just found it tough to score at the end. Not today.

I thought their guards played really well. (Cotton) is an excellent shooter and he demonstrated that today. He played within himself in their offense without forcing things. He's a very, very good offensive player.

Omar Jacobs has size. He played in a similar system that Vince Young played in. He played in the same offense that Urban Meyer brought into Bowling Green.
