We've been pursuing Anthony Thomas for a while. He's a veteran back who will complement what we have in Julius [ Jones ] and Marion [ Barber III ] because he's a bigger back. He gives us experience because he's a back who's carried the load. He gives us the depth and flexibility that we want at the position.

Anthony is an experienced veteran who provides our offensive line with flexibility and depth.

I played against the guy in college and he's a good running back but he's not a great running back. We knew we were going to shut down the running. He's really back feeling good and getting his strength back. We need to work a little bit more on his flexibility, but he's excited about it. And I think his experience will really help our front.

It was a gutsy move to bring Thomas back with six minutes left in the game. Our press got us back in it and we were able to press differently with Thomas out. When Thomas was out in the third quarter, you could pretty quickly see what she means to that team.

Muhsin played well and made some plays, ... I thought the other receivers played well and (running back Thomas) Jones played really well. Muhsin is a veteran guy who has been there and played in big games before.

Throughout spring ball and camp, I've always been a big supporter of Parrish. I think he's a great running back, does some great things. Not taking anything away from Thomas, but I think Parrish is talented. When Thomas comes back, I think we're going to be a high-powered, two-back offense.

It's very important. We're going to come back next season with an opportunity to be very good. The experience they've been able to get, they should know how to win close games. We can come back a year from now with a chance to be bigger, better and more prepared.

We'll also look for Brooke Davis in the back but she will probably be more of a defensive center midfielder. Brittany Jones and Jenny Clark, who have been consistent starters in the back since they have been at Stetson, also return in the back.

We are working to create competition at every position. Michael has experience and has been a solid, explosive player throughout his career. We will add him to the mix at running back, where we already have some depth.

Alicia (Donegan) came back halfway through the meet. Her enthusiasm when she came back from the hospital carried over to us. It was nice to see her back cheering us on.
