We've had (rain) accumulations of as much as 25 inches in some locations. We're going to see that show up in the rivers for the next two or three days, eventually into the Rio Grande.

We're concerned about the very heavy rainfall over most of Florida. We're looking at three or four days of heavy rain down here, accumulations of up to 20 inches. It's not going to be a pleasant time.

The ground is still frozen, except for the top few inches, so any rain we get will become runoff, and that can bring those rivers up pretty fast. But most areas won't see major flooding, not this year.

Our official gauge showed 4.28 inches. We have unofficial reports of six inches from some private rain gauges. That's a lot of rain at one time.

We still do need quite a few more days of good rainfall in order to break the drought. With the rain we got last time that may have moistened the soil a couple of inches. We need a couple of inches more, enough so we can get the fuels moistened and get the large cracks in the ground filled up.

It could bring 6 to 10 inches of rain in the Keys, and there could be isolated pockets of up to 15 inches,

All told, by the end of Monday, expect 4 to 8 inches of rain in the north counties and 2 to 4 inches in the Bay Area, with the majority of it in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

This is and always has been a weather dependent business. We made the decision that it would take at least 12 inches to get us reopened, and we got 17 inches. So unless it pours two days from now, we'll be open and ready to welcome skiers back.
