en There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. The goal is simple ? we want to win the conference.

en I had to set a goal for the conference and my goal was to meet people and become friends. I met that goal. Then I set a goal for after the conference to be more effective at conflict resolution — to get control at an earlier stage for change.

en We finished tied for sixth last year in the conference. Always, doing well in conference is our main goal. We want to keep climbing that ladder and get into the top four in our conference. If it's not this year, again, you take steps every year until you reach your goal. That's kind of where we're at right now. We're just now starting to lay that foundation. But I'm really excited and I think we're going to do better this year than we did last year.

en We put a lot of emphasis on all of the conference events. So it's nice to have the conference indoor title behind us. Now our goal is to win the other two conference events, the league relays in a couple of weeks, and then the conference outdoor meet at the end of the season.

en What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

en We just have to keep winning. It's a simple goal, but it's not so simple to do. I don't care what the other team's record is, it's always a big game for us and that's how we have to prepare.

en Our goal this season is to take that next step and win the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. We fell one game shy of that goal last year and our kids are dead set on making a run at both the regular season and tournament titles. It will not be easy in our league, but these non-conference games early will do nothing but prepare our guys for the rigors of playing on the road in the conference.

Six teams from our conference will probably get in (the NCAA Tournament). Drury is in. (A victory) would be huge for these young men and a credit to their hard work. But it's always a building process. Our first goal was to get into postseason play.
