Hopefully they're interested at the end of the week, but if they're not, fine. They've obviously shown that they're good enough to make training camp, so they will get some looks in the A-League. It's a positive step.

I think he's got a bright future.

Actually, he's surprised me. I know veteran players can pretty much just get through training camp and turn it on the first week. I didn't know if he could do that. But he's shown that he can.

I've had positive discussions with (local boxing promoter) Ron Resnick regarding the use of his impressive ring facilities and with sponsors interested in supporting a training camp in Rochester. City and county officials seem excited about the idea. It's looking good at this point.

As he has shown throughout his career, Ron has the ability to get to the quarterback and disrupt what opposing offences are trying to do. Adding Ron will make the defensive line a very interesting group to watch in training camp.

Going into training camp, everybody competes for a job. We'll have a good competition in training camp for the quarterback job, as well as for the defensive end job, the linebacker job, the running back job and all of them.

There's always a positive when you have your players in your camp. I think Pedro is disappointed. But for us to have him in camp, that's fine, too.

I'm getting there, ... I don't have that same pop I had in training camp. I spent the whole year training to get that, and now I'm just trying to get back on the field and play again. As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

He hurt it the other day during a pickup game, and we just wanted to run a few tests to make sure everything was fine. We wanted to make sure he was 100 percent before we put him out there in the mix for training camp.

It's a setback for us, but I feel bad for Grant with everything he's gone through the past five years. He had a very productive summer and he felt great coming out of it, and he had a great training camp. For our team, it's just a situation where we have to step up. Collectively, we have to step up and make up for the loss. But the games still go on.
