Opening day last year ordsprog

Opening day last year went so fast for me it was like I didn't really get to enjoy any of the stuff that went on because I was more worried about what was my job and going out and pitching. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. This year it was kind of fun to be able to sit back. I think this is the most I've actually taken in from opening day, watching the B-1 come over and the eagle and stuff; that was incredible. This is my fourth one, but I feel like this is the first one where I really sat and watched.

He's really matured a lot from his freshman year to last year to now. I think it really helped him when we told him he was going to be a pitcher only and he didn't have to worry about swinging the bat and all that other stuff. He kind of worked on taking his pitching a little more seriously.

My stuff's a little better than it was last year. Last year I was focused on getting another pitch going, a split, and I worked on that more than I worked on my basic stuff, so I kind of lost my feel for it the first two games of the season.

My big thing is to relax and just enjoy it. Ten to 20 years from now I'll look back and think that was such a great game, but if I'm too worried about other stuff my head's going to filled with stuff it shouldn't be.

Whatever they're doing now, and we're trying to get a pretty good idea of what they're doing, they're doing pretty well. Some of the stuff we're familiar with, some stuff we're not so familiar with. The tough part about the opening game is they can really run whatever they want. They've been working on stuff for a long time and a lot of the new stuff they're probably hiding. So that's probably what they're thinking.

I am looking forward to the opening. This is a great opportunity for people to plant stuff and our gardens have been full every year.

I know there are a lot of people that don't want to hear it, but when I look back on it, stuff-wise, that's every bit as good as I threw the ball last year from a pure physical standpoint, ... Every time I needed to reach back, I felt like I did and had something extra on the ball. I had all four of my pitches. I just didn't pitch well. I'm not used to that. I'm not used to feeling that good and not pitching well. That was kind of odd for me.

I was dealing with a lot of stuff last year. The contract, a new team, new teammates, a new organization, a new baby. This year, I feel more like I'm supposed to. I'm not worried about making a good first impression. I just want to come in and be myself.

He [Chad] did a wonderful job pitching. He said he didn't have his best stuff. We need to have great pitching throughout the year, so hopefully he can keep it up.

Patrick Hallett

We've known since camp over the summer that we were going to be different than last year. I think we've really brought our stuff together. We're a close team now. We don't want to have any of that stuff we went through last year. Now, the only thing everyone is worried about is the team. This is a family now.

I felt normal.

Our priority has to be going fast. That's what we couldn't do last year, and what I couldn't do the year before that or the year before that. ...When you go fast, you can continue to improve on going fast and you can start working on all the little stuff that makes the difference.

Obviously, no one is pleased with what happened last year. I didn't see it coming, but I don't expect it that way again. We had a bad year. We had a great year [in 2003], a solid year [in 2004] and a bad year. We have gone about our business trying to fix weaknesses. And we're still open for business. We have a long way to go until Opening Day.

She had a great opening act, which was [that] she had the stomach to do it and the will to do it and all that good stuff, ... I didn't expect this. I thought she'd stick it out.

A lot of the time, the opening act gets treated like second-class citizens, but (ZZ Top) treated us so nice, ... They were really good guys. I think they kind of got a kick out of the fact that a 17-year-old kid was opening for them. They were really complimentary and nice about it.
