We've got speed and I think we are using it very much to our advantage. But don't underestimate our talent level. We've got a lot of very good players. And we're confident like I have never seen us before.

I think we have enough guys to win with, ... I know I have an advantage of talent level here compared to some other new coaches. But still, it's basically the same team that went 6-10, so you've got to find a way to get them confident about themselves. That's what you do constantly from the very first time you step in front of them to present the staff and your plan. They've got to know that they are a good football team.

With his speed and talent, he's going to take advantage of these new rules. Speed kills in this league. We know that. And now the guys with the speed can challenge the defensemen. So I can't see any reason why it won't be a breakout season for him.

I think Andy has all the tools. He just needs the confidence to realize how good he is, because I don't think he knows yet how good he can be. With his speed and talent, he's going to take advantage of these new rules.

I think the players are in a pretty good frame of mind. We're confident in our talent and all of that. If we want to put it together, we're very tough for anybody.

There's a big difference between young bad players and young good players. There's not much you can do if they don't have much talent. We've said all along that the farm system and the players who come through it are Dan's report card. Based on last year, that's a good report card. We also feel Clint has done a good job of bringing things together at the big- league level, and the players are confident in him. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing.

The talent is here. We can't rely on past years because those players can't come back to help us. We're confident our players will learn about winning this year.

Talent wise, I don't have any complaints about that. I think our talent level is good. If we lose a game, it won't be because of talent. We're not going away, people know that.

You can have the talent at one level, but when you get to the next level, it just doesn't happen. It's like the young guy selling insurance. One year, he sells $6 million of life insurance, and then his bosses say, 'Wait until he really learns how to sell.' But then he's got a boat and a country-club membership, and all of a sudden, he's not as good. That's what happens with players.

Our No. 1 priority was to keep our team intact, and we did that. I think the team feels it's good. It sees the talent level we have. You can't fool players. Players know players. I think our team feels we're going to be a good team.

Our guys aren't as big as some. But they do have great speed. We really thrive on speed with our defense. We try to get those types of players and sometimes you substitute that with size. Our linebackers do have good speed.

Their (Montrose) talent level is so high. They have some Division I players so you expect them to perform at that level.
