We decided we liked the land planning and the apartments and shopping center and a little bit of industrial development.

All of Winkler's commercial office projects in Alexandria, most of the remaining development land and the commercial office management and development operations of the Mark Winkler Company will be sold to Duke Realty. The residential apartment properties and the shopping center at Mark Center in Alexandria will be sold to JBG Investment Fund.

We don't want those apartments in our area. The city has every right to tell me what I can or can't build in my backyard. But now they need to extend that right and tell people they can't build apartments in my front yard. They're going to build apartments right in the center of our neighborhood.

For our industrial customers, our insurance rates are pretty low. We just don't see quite the same effect as an office building or retail or apartments or something from that standpoint. We've got much bigger issues like land prices going up, construction costs going up and things of that nature.

We decided to go there because it's relatively inexpensive. We're planning to lay on the beach, go shopping, maybe rent jet skis or something.

The development will give a new look to the shopping center and, we believe, will make it more functional.

You have a lot of open land down here but you aren't going to build an industrial center on a septic tank system.

For the supervisor to want a shopping center without an anchor means he is dooming that shopping center for failure.

We believe strongly in the future of development in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. With so much to offer, and with all the amenities and infrastructure in place, we call it the Disneyland of all developments.

Future land development along the Ridge will be addressed as part of a larger planning effort.
