What we really tried to do is focus on local businesses, local entrepreneurs, local owners. We are bringing them out here. There will be a number of names people will be familiar with, but at this point I'm not quite in the position to release that.

A lot of members of Congress just like to hear themselves. They want to issue a press release back home. They want to make a little bit of a splash in the local papers, local TV stations, (but) most of these things aren't going to be enacted into law.

For me, the issue is service ? do our producers have convenient access to an FSA office? That's the key to me. That's more important than any particular number of offices, ... Now, I am concerned about closing that many offices and the impact that will have on services.

This matter goes back to 1982. The Reagan Administration did nothing. The Bush Administration did nothing. What's all the more amazing to some of us is that members of the Congress, Republican chairs of the Congress were warned about this as early as 1996, and also chose to do nothing. This administration is the first to do something,

Isn't that a little bit ridiculous? You've got a guy walking down the street and he sees some unfriendly offices, and to make a leap from that to say we're talking about Enron -- that's really a stretch. They've chosen to make a campaign of this but they have no basis ... other than that they seem to have some complaints from their membership.
