en You don't have to be good at everything to be successful. The teams bring together different talents to meet a goal.

en I started the tournament because my goal was to bring in teams from all over the state that were ranked. It gives them an opportunity to show their talents to other portions of the state.

en We're excited. We set certain goal times and did pretty well. We set a time of 1:54 in the 800 medley and ran a 1:51.5, plus we were under :51 (:50.9) in the 400. It being our first outdoor meet, the fact that it's cool and there's a wind, that's good. Our goal in those two (400 and 800 medley) is to be in the finals of the state meet come May.

en We've got some good meets coming up. Hopefully, I can do well. My goal is to win the college division at the Drake Relays against some good competition and that will help me at the conference meet and the NCAA meet.

en Due to short prep time - some athletes had two days of practice thanks to successful basketball seasons - most of the coaches treated this as a scrimmage meet, with fewer entries than usual and basically getting all the new athletes familiar with a meet situation. The conference teams did this; St. Stephens didn't.

en Revolutionizing takes some talents, many talents, ... My friend Newt Gingrich brought those talents to bear and put the Republicans in the majority. Day-to-day governing takes others. I believe I have those talents.

en We're excited because we have a lot of interesting schools coming. It's just fun to have the meet back at Gilroy again. We just want to put on a good meet and bring the Avis Kelley meet back.
