Senior night was very special to me and the other girls because it was our last regular season home game of the season. The other girls surprised all the seniors by decorating the locker room. We really have become a close group.

I wanted to make sure the juniors knew how important it was to send these special group of senior girls home with a victory. Each of these girls brought something special to the team this season, and all deserved to go out on top.

This was a special meet because these are a special group of girls. The seniors are very special to this team and it is going to be hard to let this group of girls go. I am so proud of this team, and this was a great end to a great season.

I walked in the locker room and the girls said, 'We're 3-0 right now in the new season,' and that's our thing - we have three more games, we're taking care of business. We have goals that we're focusing on defensively and offensively, and the girls are really striving for that. I think it's narrowed in our focus a little bit.

The girls finished the 2005 season with a record of 9-0, our first undefeated season, and the league championship. This year's girls group is our largest and most talented team. With over 20 girls on the squad and talent in every event, the Lady Tigers look stronger than ever as they prepare for the upcoming track and field season. Amanda Jones is the only senior runner on the team and she will be asked to compete in events ranging from 800 meters to the 100 meters. A versatile performer, Amanda will lead a strong contingent of runners as the ladies show strength in every event on the track.

Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. Nobody expected us to be here, crashing the party. It's hard for me to express in words right now how proud I am of these girls. I'm especially proud of the seniors. When they were sophomores they went through a particularly hard season and stuck with it. Now, two years later, they're in the Sweet 16. It's a special group of seniors.

These girls never quit. In the locker room, as soon as the game ended, our seniors were talking to the underclassmen about how to get back here.

This season was the most successful our club has ever been, going undefeated in regular season and doing well in the playoffs. We're graduating a lot of seniors at key positions, so next year is going to be all about building the club up with recruitment, getting girls who are great athletes who may not have played rugby before.

The girls have played hard every game all season. I appreciated the work of our five seniors this year. They set a good example for the youngsters coming back next season.

We treat them like athletes; we don't treat them like girls. They understand that. The girls who have grown up in our program have seen Jessica or know that she was a captain one year. They don't get any special treatment outside of a separate locker room or the occasional joke about having the nicest hair on the team.

When the Taylor girls won it, it was great because it was a senior and a freshman winning. Madison's a junior and Natalie's a sophomore, so they have next season. They played very well. They were aggressive and they didn't let up. Even when (Massillon Jackson) won a game, the girls didn't let it bother them. ... This is what you work for.

We needed all the breaks this game for us to beat Rutgers and we got them. We'll take them every time we can get them. I'm just so proud of the girls. We were coming off a tough season. We lost eight in a row after Meg went down and we really couldn't find our identity. But right now I've never been prouder of a group of girls to really regroup and do the things they've done here in this tournament.

I'm excited to go to college, but it's bittersweet because I'm going to miss all of these girls. It's more special because you remember this is your last game. You want to win for yourself and your fellow seniors as well as the girls who are going to follow in your footsteps.

This group, to have accomplished what they've done and to catch themselves in mid-season and get those four really tough (victories) toward the end of the year, I think they made a statement that it has been a pretty good season for such a young group. That's a tough group in (that locker room).

This is a new season. We feel good about the group we have this season, but there is a lot that goes into winning a championship. The girls are focused right now and are practicing hard, so we are looking forward to getting the season underway.
