It is past time for the state to act to get these weapons off the streets, and Illinois should set an example for Indiana to follow.

I'd say Illinois, Michigan State and Indiana will probably be the top of the class. But one thing is this year, the league has a lot of balance. When I mention Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State, they are probably the best teams but they aren't going to dominate.

The gun lobby's leaders said today in Springfield that banning assault weapons would injure Illinois economically to the tune of $150 million and cost the state 750 jobs. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. Are Illinois residents really buying $150 million a year worth of assault weapons? If so, I urge the Legislature to move as quickly as possible on this proposal, because we have a bigger problem than we realized.

There's always a lot of talk about who Illinois didn't get. But he was the only impact big man in the in-state class. In time, he will be a force at Illinois.

Our focus was on Illinois State for the first week. Our focus was on Illinois State all the way through camp. For them to say that this is our biggest game of the year and this is what we focus on all the time, they better look at out schedule. We have big games all throughout.

I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. Being from Indiana and growing up and watching Indiana basketball with all the great colleges in the state, I loved it.

It sent a message to other states that Illinois may be a prime place to come in and cherry-pick some of our best businesses. Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa were advertising in Illinois publications trying to attract them to greener pastures.

The neat thing for this game is we didn't get all excited that we were beating Illinois. We play the same way no matter if it's Illinois or Illinois State or anyone else.

We are a little bit concerned at this time that this may be a serial theft working Indiana. There has been a series of robberies that we have been aware of, that police are tracking in the state of Indiana, in the last several weeks for to be exact.

We keep coming close. We came close at Indiana, we came close at Illinois. We have to get past this little ? I don't know what it is ? and win some games.

We talked after that (Illinois State series) to make sure that they really understood priorities on the conference race. We knew with Bradley coming in it was a team that we could compete against, and we just had to put the Illinois State games behind us.

I've never spoken to Coach Weber about Patrick. Big-time head coaches know they talk to the high school coach. This is why the top city kids are going outside the state. I'm not trying to belittle Illinois. My son goes there. I love Illinois.

There was the insinuation that Illinois told him you don't need to be going to Illinois State. We were told by outside sources that the NCAA would be checking into it if he went to Illinois after prep school.

Indiana State is a talented team that will provide a great challenge for us in the Bracket Buster. They were ranked in the top 25 at one point and they've beaten Indiana. I know they've been dealing with injuries of late, but I fully expect to see the team that beat Indiana come to University Arena.

The team I really feel bad for is Indiana State. I think last year they should have been the number one seed, and this year they should have been also. The winner of the tournament is going to come out of our side of the bracket. It's going to come down to Indiana State or us.
